A Sydney lockdown Sunday

Magical SydneyIt’s another COVID lockdown in Sydney, “following the science” and health advice to limit the spread of COVID after its re-emergence after the best part of a year. It is frustrating, a bit depressing but “it is what it is”. A return to long walks and slow cooking.

Last Sunday was a warm winter’s day, there were strains of Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64 floating over Chatswood’s Victoria Avenue Mall, a violinist had a rapt audience of one.

I walked to Middle Harbour, sat in the bush, meditating on the water. Sydney the sapphire city works her magic, it’s impossible not to fall under her spell, feel your spirit lifted.

There was so much joy last Sunday, music played and shared, a warm winter’s day, and the magical beauty of the sapphire city Sydney!
